YouTube Stops Recommending Videos once you Sign Out of Google

The YouTube-recommended videos will no longer appear once you log out of your Google Account or into Incognito mode. There are concerns that people are being bullied into always being logged in to the service.

Previously, YouTube already suggested videos to watch if you opened it in Incognito mode or without logging into your Google account.

The new YouTube homepage does not include any videos or suggestions for what to watch.

In the next step, you need to search on YouTube for something, and once you do that, you will receive a list of recommended videos that fit your interests.

For Example,

Here’s a search I ran on YouTube for the term ‘Roblox‘. Videos related to Roblox are being shown to me.

Search "Roblox"

However, once I returned to the YouTube homepage, I received the old message of “Try searching to get started”.

I watched three or four videos, then I went back to YouTube’s homepage to see what recommendations it was showing me.

Haridev on Twitter, he had cleared his search and watched history as well as turned all history off and saw no suggestions of videos when they logged in to his Google account.

Youtube also wont show any suggestions on your home page if you cleared your search and watch history as well as turn all history off. It feels like a bullying tactic in order to make people turn on history.

As a result, some think that YouTube is forcefully trying to turn on the user’s history setting.
